MAKOMAS Cassava Flour, also known as Yuca, is made from pure cassava, a single-ingredient, plant-based flour. We dry and grind this sustainable root vegetable using the whole peeled root. Please note that we do not merely extract the starch from the plant as is so commonly done.
Our Cassava Flour is minimally processed in order to retain as much of the root’s natural antioxidants, fiber and nutrients such as vitamin C and complex carbohydrates, as possible. Our 100% Cassava flour is naturally free of the most common allergens: grain, gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, and tree nuts. Moreover, because our cassava flour has the taste and texture of wheat flour it is the perfect flour substitute for paleo or vegan dishes.
The creamy white color of our flour is all natural. We never bleach, ferment, or add anything artificial. You will enjoy the natural aroma that comes from real cassava.
Bake any recipe allergen and gluten free. To get the same fluffy baked goods as you would using traditional flour just substitute 1 cup of all-purpose flour or wheat flour with ¾ cup cassava flour. If you weigh out your flour, use a 1:1 ratio, i.e. 100g all-purpose flour = 100g cassava flour. Bake up a storm! Cassava Flour is ideal for baking breads, cakes, muffins, waffles, tortillas, flatbreads, pancakes and more. For cooking, add Cassava Flour to your sauces and gravies.

MAKOMAS believes our responsibility to produce an exceptional product doesn’t just end there. In order to leave a light footprint on the environment and to bring you the freshest, best quality product possible, we avoid impersonal, industrial type operations. Our emphasis on small-scale sustainable organic farming practices helps the environment by promoting soil regeneration as well as protecting biodiversity.
Our Commitment to the Highest Ethical Standards
MAKOMAS  products are sourced from small farms in West Africa where rigorous standards insure that only the highest quality organic ingredients go into the making of our products. But, we haven’t forgotten the women farmers who toil in the fields to produce our raw materials. To that end we have created the MAKOMAS Foundation, a charitable arm of our company. With every purchase you make, you also give back to the women farmers who are so deserving of our support.
