MAKOMAS Tapioca Flour, also known as tapioca starch, is made With 100% Cassava (yuca) manioc root. This starchy root vegetable does not add any aroma to your cooking. Moreover, being almost pure starch, tapioca flour has very limited nutritional value as it contains only trace amounts of protein, fat and fiber. Nevertheless, it is a versatile grain-free, gluten-free, plant-based, non-GMO ingredient.
Tapioca flour works really well in gluten-free baking recipes because it adds the chew that gluten-free baked goods often lack. This flour works best in combination with other gluten-free flours.
Try using our Tapioca Flour as a binding agent or as a thickener in gluten-free recipes. It is also a great alternative to cornstarch because it won’t alter the flavor of your recipe. As a rule of thumb, substitute, 2 tsp Tapioca Flour for each 1 tsp cornstarch.
Using our Tapioca Flour makes it possible to create recipes like mouses, puddings, yogurts, jello, sauces, crock-pot recipes, soups, gravies, and baked goods such as tapioca cookies, pie filling, bread, cakes, and more without the use of regular all-purpose flour or other highly processed ingredients.

Our emphasis on small-scale sustainable organic farming practices helps the environment by promoting soil regeneration as well as protecting biodiversity.
Our Commitment to the Highest Ethical Standards
MAKOMAS  products are sourced from small farms in West Africa where rigorous standards insure that only the highest quality organic ingredients go into the making of our products. But, we haven’t forgotten the women farmers who toil in the fields to produce our raw materials. To that end we have created the MAKOMAS Foundation, a charitable arm of our company. With every purchase you make, you also give back to the women farmers who are so deserving of our support.
