Our ginger juices are made with USDA organically-grown ginger roots from a small farm in the US. Use these beverages in your drink recipes to add a bit of spice and create a wonderful tangy flavor.

GINGER SMOOTHIE WITH PEARS

Ingredients

  • 1 Bottle Makomas Ginger Original
  • 1 Pear skinned and deseeded
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 2 tsp Honey

Directions        

  1. Toss the ingredients into a blender and blend till smooth.
  2. Check for sweetness and add more honey if required. Mix well.
  3. Pour into a smoothie glass.
  4. Sit back and savor.

GINGER TURMERIC HONEY CHICKEN

Ingredients

  • ½ Bottle Makomas Ginger Turmeric Honey
  • 1 pound boneless chicken breasts, cut into medium pieces
  • Salt and Pepper
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 2 – 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp mixed Italian Herbs
  • 1 tbsp butter

Directions        

  1. Rub the chicken with salt and pepper
  2. Prepare the marinade by slowing mixing and then whisking together the Makomas Ginger Turmeric Honey, oil, garlic and herbs
  3. Put the chicken in a resealable bag and pour over the marinade
  4. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or more
  5. Heat a nonstick skillet, keep the extra marinade aside and cook the chicken pieces until golden brown
  6. While you’re cooking the chicken, add the butter to a nonstick pan and pour in the leftover marinade.
  7. Allow to thicken into a sauce.
  8. Drizzle over chicken pieces and serve hot.

ORANGE GINGER TURMERIC DETOX

Ingredients :

  • 2 tsp Makomas Organic Baobab Powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 tbsp unbleached flour
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 serving vanilla whey protein
  • 1tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1tbsp baking powder
  • 11/2 cup of milk (add more or less depending on desired consistency)
  • 2 tbsp butter, for the pan
  • To serve (optional): Strawberries/Almond butter/Maple syrup

Directions : 1) In a bowl, whisk together the banana, cinnamon, eggs, baobab, vanilla extract and baking powder. Gradually whisk in the unbleached flour and then add the whey protein.
2) Slowly, add the milk until to reach your desired consistency.
3) On low heat, grease pan with a thin layer of butter.
4) Pour pancake batter onto the pan and leave to cook until you start to see bubbles, then flip and cook it for another minute or two.
5) Repeat until the batter is used up.
6) Top with almond butter, sliced strawberries
7) Drizzle of maple syrup.

Ginger and Carrot Soup

Ingredients:

  • 2 Carrots chopped
  • 1 Tsp MAKOMAS Ginger Powder
  • 1 large tomato
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp corn flour
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh Cream to garnish

Directions:

  1. Bring the water to boil in a large saucepan. Add the carrots, tomato and garlic and allow to cook until soft.
  2. Sauté the onion in butter till soft and slightly brown, add the corn flour, whisk, and take off the heat.
  3. Blend all of the above in a blender along with the MAKOMAS Ginger Powder.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Ladle into soup bowls and garnish with fresh cream.
  6. Serve piping hot with homemade crusty bread.
Ginger Garlic Meat Marinade

Ingredients:

½ Tsp MAKOMAS Ginger Powder

2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

1 tsp olive oil

3 gloves garlic crushed

1/4 cup of parsley finely chopped

¼ cup of rosemary finely chopped

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Whisk all ingredients together and fill in a jar.
  2. Keep in fridge to use as marinade for meats and veggies.

 

Ginger Orange Muffins

Ingredients:

  • ½ Tsp MAKOMAS Ginger Powder
  • 34 cup all-purpose flour
  • 34 cup whole wheat flour
  • 23 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 12 tsp baking soda
  • 1tbsp grated orange peel
  • 7 tbsp butter, melted
  • 13 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 eggs

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line muffin cups with paper baking cups.
  3. Mix all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and orange peel.
  4. Whisk the butter with MAKOMAS Ginger Powder, orange juice and eggs in a bowl.
  5. Fold in this mixture to the dry mix in step 3.
  6. Spoon the batter into the cups leaving some space for the muffins to rise.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and tester inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool on a rack.
  9. Serve with warm custard or cool ice cream.
Ginger Blueberry Sauce

Ingredients:

½ Tsp MAKOMAS Ginger Powder

2 cups blueberries

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

 

Directions:

  1. Process the blueberries in a juicer.
  2. Pour into a pan with the MAKOMAS Ginger Powder, apple cider vinegar, sugar and black pepper and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and allow to simmer until the sauce is reduced.
  4. Serve warm over cakes, ice creams, roasts and in wraps.
Ginger Plum Sauce

Ingredients:

  • ½ Tsp MAKOMAS Ginger Powder
  • 5 to 6 fresh plums pitted and cubed
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1onion finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 1½ tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Salt to taste

Directions:

  1. Put the onions, garlic and plums in a saucepan and cook for 10 minutes.
  2. Add MAKOMAS Ginger Powder and reduce till sauce-like consistency.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Add the chilli sauce, soy sauce and balsamic vinegar and mix well.
  5. Blend with immersion blender to a smooth paste and season.
  6. Serve with meat, fish or in wraps.
Nutritious Ginger Turmeric Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp MAKOMAS Ginger Powder

½ Tsp of turmeric

1 peeled Orange

1 chopped yellow squash

1 tbsp hemp seeds

Honey to taste

1 cup Ice

Directions:

  1. Blend all ingredients.
  2. Pour in a tall glass.
  3. Chill and savor.
Carrot Apple Rejuve with Ginger

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Tbsp MAKOMAS Ginger Powder
  • 1/2 Medium Carrot
  • 1 Large Apple

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Juice the Carrot and Apple in a juicer.
  2. Add MAKOMAS Ginger Powder.
  3. Chill and Serve.

 

 

Orange Ginger Turmeric Detox

Ingredients

 

  • 2 Tbsp MAKOMAS Ginger Powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric
  • ½ tsp Honey
  • 1 peeled and sliced orange (preferably organic)

Directions

  1. In a pan warm up 1 cup of water with MAKOMAS Ginger Powder.
  2. Add the orange slices and turn off the heat.
  3. Steep for 20 minutes.
  4. Strain and drink warm or chilled.
