MAKOMAS BEGAN WITH A SIMPLE MISSION:

TO SHARE THE VIBRANT FLAVORS OF MY WEST AFRICAN ROOTS AND HONOR THE POWERFUL WOMEN WHO BRING THEM TO LIFE.

Growing up in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, I was surrounded by rich traditions, bold ingredients, and the strength of women who worked tirelessly to nourish their families and communities. After moving to the United States, I carried that heritage with me, in my heart, in my memories, and in the recipes passed down through generations.

In 2011, I turned that heritage into action. MAKOMAS was born from a simple desire to reconnect people with something real, deeply rooted, nutrient-rich, and made with purpose. But this brand is about more than products. It’s about people.

Every purchase you make supports the industrious women farmers across Africa who grow our ingredients. Through the MAKOMAS Foundation, we reinvest in their lives, creating jobs, strengthening communities, and offering hope where it’s needed most.
